Eligibility for Food

Have you wondered how to qualify for food?

In Ohio, income eligibility for assistance is determined by the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services. Any household living at 200% of the federal poverty level or less is eligible.

Income guidelines, based on family size, are updated annually by the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services. The link below has a table that shows yearly gross income for each family size. If your household income is at or below the income listed for the number of people in your household, you are eligible to receive food.

You do not need to show a proof of income at a Second Harvest distribution or a partner food pantry, but to receive food your household must fall at or below the income levels listed.
