We cordially invite you to participate in the 2023 Generous Helpings.

Become a part of an unforgettable evening where culinary masterpieces are celebrated and your participation will directly contribute to the mission of Second Harvest. Together, we can make a significant impact in the lives of individuals and families in need by raising food and funds to create pathways to nutritious meals.


Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio, 5510 Baumhart Road, Lorain. We are across the street from the old Ford Plant.

Event Time & Set-up:

The event begins promptly at 5pm and ends no later than 8pm. Chefs may arrive at the event starting at 3pm on Sunday, September 24th to set-up Please bring signage, brochures, catering menus, etc. to highlight your establishment! Directions for unloading will be given when you arrive.

Food Preparation & Food Safety:

Chefs should prepare a sufficient number of 2 oz. samples for at least 250 guests. The majority of food preparation should be completed off-site. Food safety is a priority - chefs are expected to practice food safety precautions during preparation.

Facilities, Tables, & Serving Supplies:

Chefs are provided with one 8 foot covered table. Please let us know by September 15th if you would like us to provide eating utensils and plates or other supplies.

Voting & Awards:

Chefs compete for the People's Choice Award by the popular vote of the guests.


Chefs may request a stipend to offset food costs. Please provide an invoice at the end of the event. We can also work with you to have volunteers help serve your food if you need staff support. Please let us know if you will need a stipend or volunteer support staff.
