  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

A federal government shutdown will not immediately impact SNAP benefits in the state of Ohio. SNAP households will continue to receive SNAP benefits as normal through the end of October 2025, and your EBT card will continue to work normally during the shutdown.

If you are interested in applying for SNAP benefits, you can still do so at this time. Second Harvest Food Bank's outreach team is available to assist with the process; follow this link - https://secondharvestfoodbank.treepl.co/programs/snap

  • Women, Infants, & Children (WIC)

Second Harvest Food Bank does not anticipate immediate impacts on WIC operations in Ohio. We expect that WIC-approved stores will continue to accept WIC benefits, and local agencies can continue to serve all applicants and participants.

  • Other Federal Child Nutrition Programs

Second Harvest Food Bank does not anticipate immediate impacts on other federal child nutrition programs, including school meals, Summer EBT, and the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
