Spotlight on our Partners - The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer

In the heart of downtown Lorain, The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer has built more than just a community meal program — it’s created a place where everyone is seen, heard and valued. The neighbors who enjoy the weekly community meal can stop by early to socialize or pitch in to help prepare and serve the fresh, healthy meals. Using fruits and vegetables grown in a nearby plot of land along with food from Second Harvest, they used 30,000 lbs. of food to make 17,400 meals last fiscal year. Their vision of a community where everyone works together to accomplish something bigger than themselves is inspiring. They were awarded the Bev Lizanich Innovation Award in September at our annual Generous Helpings event. Click HERE to watch a special video!
