Empty Bowls by the Lake

The annual Empty Bowls by the Lake fundraiser is an artistic means to fight hunger in our communities. October 12, 2019 from 11AM until 2PM at the American Legion Post 211, 31972 Walker Road, Avon Lake.

Potters, educators, students and volunteers create handcrafted bowls. Local restaurants donate soup. Guests are invited to a simple meal of soup and bread and, in exchange for a cash donation, are asked to keep a bowl as a reminder of all the ‘empty bowls’ in the world.

A $20 donation will include one pottery bowl and unlimited soup and bread. Children who accompany a $20 donor may participate in the event for a reduced donation of $5 for ages 6-12 and free for 5 and under. (The reduced donation includes soup and bread, but does not include a pottery bowl.) All proceeds benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio and local community resource services.
