Annual Report: Highlights from FY 2013/14

It has been a whirlwind of excitement and activity over the past year as we have worked tirelessly ARPicon the campaign to bring our Nordson Food Distribution Center to life. In addition to building a new building, we have been busy expanding our programs, building our volunteer base, and working with 110 partner charities to ensure that healthy and fresh food is getting to our neighbors in need.

A Note From Julie: Be an Advocate in 2015

For the past three years we have been working tirelessly toward the goal of building a new facility to expand our capacity and ability to help more of our neighbors in need across our 4-county service area.  One of the pillars of the new Nordson Food Distribution Center is increased refrigeration capacity so we can provide more healthy and fresh foods, often seen as a luxury to families and children.  Providing fresh produce to our network of over 100 partner charities is a priority we are committed to at Second Harvest. But, we cannot do it alone. We are able to provide meals to our neighbors in need from a combination of philanthropic, community, individual, corporate, and government support at the federal and state levels.

Sign a paper plate at Second Harvest and share your voice with our elected officials.  Paper plates will be on display at the Ohio Statehouse on February 10, 2015  Share your experience, why you donate or volunteer, and help us tell our elected officials why we care about hunger issues in our community. Check out some of the paper plates.

The 2015 Harvest for Hunger Campaign is right around the corner, and we need your help.  We are asking you and your company to join in by hosting a Harvest for Hunger campaign at your workplace (it’s fun and easy!).
