As we approach the holiday season that is only a few weeks away (hard to believe!), we enter the season where food banks like Second Harvest are the fortunate recipients of generous donations, food drives, and volunteer outings. We are grateful that we are able to do more during the holiday season for our neighbors in need because of the commitment of so many.

Partner Charity Spotlight: Nehemiah Partners Kids Cafe

The sight of children lining up for seconds of good-for-you veggies may sound like a figment of an adult’s imagination, but that is exactly what the scene has been at Nehemiah Partners Kid’s Cafe in Sandusky. Kids lined up for second helpings of chicken breast, noodle, salad, and spaghetti squash. “Our kids are hungry!” smiled Roxanne Goss, director of the Nehemiah Partners.

Brighten the Season with Holiday Cheer

Since its inception 32 years ago, the Holiday Cheer campaign has raised over $900,000 for Second Harvest, equaling millions of meals for families struggling with hunger. A community effort led by Burger King, WOBL 1320 AM, and WDLW 1380 AM, Holiday Cheer raises money for Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio each holiday season.
