35 Years LargeApril is the beginning of a new season and this year we’re excited about celebrating 35 Years of Growing Hope!  Our recent Annual Report highlights the opening of the Nordson Food Distribution Center - the culmination of our last strategic plan and a major milestone for our organization.  Complete lists of our hunger-relief partner charities, fund donors, food donors, volunteers and audited financial statements are available for review online.

As Second Harvest has grown to be the largest social service non-profit in our region, the Board of Directors has recently evaluated and approved an update to the leadership structure more fitting and consistent with an organization of our size and scope. The Board is proud to announce the following appointments: Paul Adair as Chairman, Cynthia McCabe as Vice-Chair, Gayle A. Reeves as Vice-Chair and Juliana Chase-Morefield as President & CEO.

Last month we bid a fond farewell to long-time board member Adele Kozar (2005 – 2017) who helped shepherd Second Harvest through a time of  both extraordinary need for our services and change with with her quiet leadership and giving nature. While her board service has ended, Adele will continue to be a key part of our Generous Helpings committee and special projects.  The Board also elected new member, Steve Durbin, Vice President & General Manager of Janotta & Herner Inc. in Monroeville. With a strong team assembled, we look forward to continuing to build healthy communities and brighter futures.
