Harvest for Hunger

Second Harvest Mobile Pantry Corps

Harvest for Hunger

Harvest for Hunger is the largest annual community-wide campaign in the country that raises food and funds to stock food pantries, hot meal programs and shelters throughout 21 counties.

The campaign is in partnership between four food banks focusing on fighting hunger across our regions. Join us this March by saying no to local hunger and yes to feeding families. Together, we can ensure families aren’t forced to make difficult choices between necessities and nutritious food!

Meet our 2024 Harvest for Hunger Honorary Chair:

Second Harvest is pleased to announce that Cynthia Andrews, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Community Foundation of Lorain County, will be this year’s Harvest for Hunger Honorary Chairperson.

We first got to know Cindy when she was appointed Executive Director of Oberlin Community Services, one of our larger partner charities. She knows firsthand how important the Harvest for Hunger campaign is to our partners and the community. The food and funds raised from this campaign go directly to support our network of partners.

During this time of increasing need, a successful 2024 campaign will offer the resources to restock shelves across our region with nutritious food for all those accessing our services. Cindy understands that by working together, we can accomplish more, which makes her ideal for the position of Honorary Chair for the 2024 Harvest for Hunger Campaign.

Help Us Reach Our 2024 Goal to Provide Over 3.5 Million Meals!

Get Involved Today!

Harvest for Hunger is a crucial program for Second Harvest and the region. There are many ways to get involved:

  • Run a Harvest for Hunger Campaign at your workplace or school. Encourage your company or organization to join hundreds of others and run an employee fund and/or virtual food drive. As a student or teacher, encourage your school to get involved. Learn more about running Food & Fund Drive HERE!
  • Donate at your local Giant Eagle, Buehler’s, or Heinen's store. Make a $1, $5 or $10 contribution at the register through Check Out Hunger.
  • Look for Harvest for Hunger ads. Look for ads in The Morning Journal, The Chronicle Telegram, and the Norwalk Reflector.
  • Radio partners. Tune in to WEOL, WOBL, WDLW, WCPZ, WMJK, WLEC, WLKR, and WKFM.
  • Donate Online. For every $1, Second Harvest can provide 7 meals to local families, children, and seniors in need.
